’24: Live Another Day’ Adds ‘Game of Thrones’ Star Michelle Fairley, Replacing Judy Davis
FOX's impending '24' revival, titled '24: Live Another Day,' has scarcely shot an inch of footage to the point where its recent Super Bowl trailer was specially created for promotion, but a major casting tweak should keep things rolling along. Following Emmy-winner Judy Davis' unexpected exit from production, 'Live Another Day' has added fan-favorite 'Game of Thrones' mom Michelle Fairley in the pivotal role!
Per the original casting announcement, Fairley will portray Margot, a British national and the widow of a notorious terrorist. Judy Davis had originally been cast in the role, before dropping out due to an illness in the family. Fairley, meanwhile, most recently appeared in USA's 'Suits,' having - spoiler alert - completed her role as 'Game of Thrones' matriarch Catelyn Stark in season 3.
’24: Live Another Day' will premiere the first two installments of 12 all-new episodes on May 5 with a cast that includes ‘Dexter”s Yvonne Strahovski, ‘Hostages‘ star Tate Donovan, Stephen Fry, Kim Raver’s Audrey Raines, Benjamin Bratt as the head of CIA operations in London, along with Mary Lynn Rajskub's Chloe and Michael Wincott as an infamous hacker. ‘Live Another Day’ will also have the returning '24' team of writer/producers Howard Gordon (‘Homeland‘), Evan Katz, Manny Coto, David Fury, Robert Cochran, Brian Grazer, Jon Cassar and Kiefer Sutherland.
Certainly a fine substitution, but what say you? Does Michelle Fairley's 'Live Another Day' presence have you any more amped for Jack's big '24' return? Watch the teaser again below, and give us your thoughts in the comments!
