UPDATE – Minnesota Plane Crash Victims Identified
(UPDATE) The victims of the plane crash have been identified. 32-year-old Tyler Fretland of Burnsville was the pilot. His passengers were identified as 32-year-old Alyssa Schmidt of St. Paul and 31-year-old Matthew Schmidt of Burnsville. They were brother and sister.
Hermantown, MN (KROC-AM News) - A plane crash just outside of Duluth has claimed three lives.
The Hermantown Police Department says the three victims were in a single-engine plane that crashed into a house just before midnight Saturday. The crash site is about 1.5 miles southwest of the Duluth Airport.
A news release indicates the aircraft hit the second floor of the home and then fell into the backyard. The two occupants of the house were not injured.
The names of the crash victims have not been released. The Hermantown Police Department says they were two men from Burnsville and a woman from St. Paul, who were all in their early 30s.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
