Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Monday morning commute could be a dicey one for motorists in southeast Minnesota.

An approaching storm could produce freezing drizzle Sunday night/Monday morning and then snow with possible totals as high as 3 inches in some areas. The National Weather Service issued this message Sunday morning:

Wintry weather returns to the area later tonight into Monday, with freezing drizzle possible overnight, changing to snow Monday. Snow accumulation of a dusting up to 3 inches is expected, highest north of Interstate 90. Motorists are urged to pay close attention to road conditions overnight and into Monday, as roads may become snow or ice-covered and slick at times.

Windy conditions and falling temps are also expected Monday.

The coldest weather of the season is expected after the storm moves out. Expect highs only in the single digits Tuesday and Wednesday. Low temps Wednesday morning could fall to 10 below zero.
