Good Morning and welcome back to our weekly posting about available adoptable animals of the week. This week we are featuring Archer the dog, who by all accounts is great with people, but he would prefer to be in a home without young children.

Archer is a 7-year-old Akita/Pitbull mix that was an owner surrender to the Mower County Humane Society. According to volunteers at the Mower County Humane Society Archer is "a pretty easygoing guy who is content to chill out with his person. He likes to chase an occasional toy, take a walk here and there, and get his belly rubbed."

My friend Michaela who is a volunteer at the Mower County Humane Society adds that "Archer is looking for a somewhat quiet and calm home. He needs a home without young kids and would prefer to be the only pet in the house. He would make a lovely companion! He loves his people loyally and completely."

Archer is adoptable for $125 in addition to a filled out and approved application from the Mower County Humane Society. You can find the application here. A reminder that the Mower County Humane Society is closed to the public and appointments should be made to see any of the animals they have to be adopted.

Archer might just be the right addition to your home this year, as it seems that plenty of people have taken to spending more time with their pets since the pandemic began. Spending time with your pet, is something you CAN do when it's below zero in Minnesota, here are some things you SHOULDN'T DO when it's below zero.
