The star running back is back in action.

Adrian Peterson, who hasn't played since Sept. 18 against the Green Bay Packers, will be active against the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday, two months to the day of his injury. There hasn't been an official move yet, and the Vikings will have to make a corresponding move to get a talented runner on their active roster.

Peterson tore his meniscus against the Packers in week two, and has been on the shelf since.

According to ESPN, Peterson appeared on Dash Radio where he said he plans to play on Sunday.

How much will Peterson play? We don't really know. He could be in for a full work load, but he also might just play a few plays to get the rust off. Either way it is exciting news.

Now, the Vikings offensive line has been miserable, but the jolt of energy that Peterson will bring to the offense might be just what they need. It'll be interesting to see how much Peterson plays, and to see how rusty he really is.

It seemed this season that Peterson struggled even when healthy early this season. If he becomes more of a downhill runner, he might be exactly what the Vikings are looking for.

What do you think of Peterson coming back? Will he be enough for the Vikings to make a playoff push?
