Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Several schools in southeast Minnesota decided to open two hours late Wednesday morning due to the bitterly cold weather.

For a second straight morning, air temperatures fell to the minus teens and low 20s across southeast Minnesota, and wind chill readings were between 30 and 40 below zero.

Most areas have had below zero temperatures since Monday evening.

Although air temperatures are expected to rise above zero on Wednesday, strong winds will continue to produce negative wind chill readings into the evening hours. Somewhat warmer weather is in the forecast for Thursday but then cold air returns Friday.

Wow! Check out how Rochester has changed throughout the years in these Google photos.

As we are soaring down Hwy 52, it is hard to imagine what life was like in our town before the Target store was built where it is today. Or the house that you live in now, at one point in town, that wasn't there. In fact, Rochester has grown so fast throughout the years, most of our houses weren't even around 50 years ago! Don't believe me? Look through these photos to get a glimpse of what Rochester was like years ago.
