I am always on the lookout for deer but I'll tell ya, I've never been watching for black bears while I'm driving.  Keep your eyes open because a black bear was spotted and caught on video going across the road by the Chevrolet dealership in Red Wing, Minnesota on Hwy 61. 🐻

Austin Dahling posted a video on his Facebook page Thursday that shows a black bear going back and forth on the road.  The bear eventually darted in front of his car and left the roadway.  You can watch the amazing video below:

Wow!  I'm still shocked that a bear was so close to Rochester.  I know that it happens but to see one so close as you are driving on the road, it would make me do a double-take.

The comments on the video that Austin posted mentioned that the bear spotted looks like a cub and that the momma bear has been seen in the area too.  So, I guess if you live in the Red Wing area, you should be looking for deer and bears as you are driving.

This is the second recent bear sighting in Southeast Minnesota this year. There is an auditory report of a bear and her cub in Nerstrand Big Woods State Park near Faribault on June 30th.

What's one animal that you'd never expect to see in the wild in Minnesota?  Let me know on my Facebook page (Jessica On The Radio) or DM me on Instagram.  I'd go with kangaroos.  If I saw one of those hopping around on I-90, I'd be doing a double-take for sure!
