Shakopee, MN (KROC-AM News) - A body was recovered from a lake in Shakopee Sunday morning.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a body located by a fisherman, floating near a pier on the north side of Lake O’Dowd around 7:30 a.m.

According to a news release first responders were able to recover the body of an unidentified adult black male.

“Our investigators will be working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to make an identification and determine the circumstances surrounding this death,” Sheriff Luke Hennen said. “The investigation is in the very early stages, so we have very little information to share at this time.”

The cause of death is unknown and the identification of the deceased will be released at a later date by The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

No foul play is suspected at the time.
