Would You Eat This Sandwich? Rochester, MN Said No Way

I never imagined there would be such a reaction to my humble bologna sandwich. Bread, bologna, ketchup, done and delicious. But SE Minnesota says nope, that's disgusting.

Thou Shalt Not Eat Just Bologna, Bread, and Ketchup

I will never change my mind. I LOVE bologna on bread with ketchup. After a few people at work asked if I had Covid, because I was eating a bologna sandwich so my taste buds must be broken, I took it to Facebook, thinking I'd get some support. Nope.

Ummm, Sheila it me, I do!  Todd...that sounds good. But keep the bologna to up the protein count.

Pickles As Distractions

I never thought of pickles as distraction, but I can't image they were any good on the sandwich.

Bologna with mayo, tomatoes, onions sounds like WAY too much work. And I feel like I owe Shannon an apology for making her almost throw up. But let's be honest here. Y'all are just jealous cuz bologna and ketchup are lovers, they belong together!

We're Surrounded By Anti-Bologna-Ites!

I adore you, Vicki, but that's just too much vomit for one person. I think you're faking it to get out of class. And Susan, it turns out, hates mustard, but hates it less than bologna, so I don't know what to do with that.

Obviously, though, I'm mostly alone in the bologna with ketchup sandwich world, but that's only her in SE Minnesota, right?

Just learned that if you order a bologna sandwich in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, they'll stare at you like an alien, because there it's called a "jumbo sammich". Gimmie one jumbo sandiwich Hal." A what? "Oh, sorry, a jumbo SAMMICH."

What About the Other Bologna

You mean olive load and pickle loaf? Well, pickle load is just straight up gross, but olive loaf as the tanginess of green olives with the mellow certainty of bologna. A perfect combo my grandmother taught me.

And it turns out on Friends, Joey's a fan of olive loaf, too!
