Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former Stewartville man with a history of drug and burglary convictions has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for a break-in that occurred in Rochester two years ago.

35-year-old Brandon Moore, who now has a Spring Valley address, entered a guilty plea in August to a second-degree burglary charge. He and another 31-year-old Tyler Treichel were arrested on October 15, 2020, after a southwest Rochester homeowner discovered two men inside the attached garage at his home in the Hart Farms neighborhood.

The homeowner told Rochester police that it appeared he had interrupted the men while they were rearranging items in the garage in order to steal them. The homeowner also reported that a suspicious car was parked outside his residence and Treichel was arrested a short time later after he was spotted behind the wheel of the vehicle.

Rochester police reported that Moore was found riding a small BMX-style bicycle in the same area. The homeowner identified both men as the alleged burglars.

Moore's 51-month prison sentence will be shortened by the 40 days he spent in jail after his arrest.

Treichel has also pleaded guilty in the case and is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
