Caledonia’s Owen King Named Minnesota’s AP Player of the Year
A tremendous career ends with a tremendous award for Caledonia's Owen King, has he was named Minnesota's AP Player of the Year!
The QB was magical for three seasons has the starter for the Warriors, and his senior season might have been his best. . He led the Warriors to their third-straight state championship and an all-time record of 41-0 as the starting QB.
In his career, King passed for 8,158 yards and 137 touchdowns, and making some fine dazzling plays in the process.
Broadcasting Caledonia's run to the State Championship on 103.1 KFIL was an absolute blast, and King is very deserving of the award. He made some plays that I would never think to be possible by a High School QB.
The Warriors were great at all facets of the game, there is no doubt to that, but having the best QB in the state doesn't hurt, either. Congrats, Owen, on a fantastic career!
King was first-team all state, while Zach Myhre (RB, Grand Meadow), Jordan Burg (Caledonia), Jacob Paulson (Rushford-Peterson) were Second-Team All-State. Andrew Goergen (Caledonia) and Alex Folz (Spring Grove).
