This video is stunning! The brightest super moon of the year lit up Duluth and the Aerial Lift Bridge as the largest ship on the Great Lakes leaves port.
Just because you've rarely if ever seen one doesn't mean that they're not around. The state of Illinois has 102 counties, and bobcats have been reported in all but three counties. So, how many does Illinois have? The number will probably surprise you.
A few years back, it was easier to tell who was calling you. Their name and number (or at least the number) would show up on your caller ID, and you'd have some idea of where they were calling from. Now, a scammer simply changes a few things to make it look like a local number is calling you, or even worse, it'll look like a friend or family member's number.
According to the National Restaurant Association, after some incredibly tough times over the last nearly five years, the food service industry is once-again starting to see gains. Famous Yeti’s Pizza in Stoughton, Wisconsin became really famous a few days back, but not for a reason that anyone wanting to become famous would want. They accidently sickened dozens of their customers when an unusual ingredient, THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, found its way into their pizza crusts.
It may seem like winter-like conditions are still pretty far away, but I should remind you that in some years, we've already had our first snowfall in Northern Illinois by now. Well, it hasn't snowed yet...but here's when it more than likely will snow for the first time this season.
Well, regardless of the new name for windchill, it's still the same thing: how much colder the wind makes the actual temperature feel like to human skin. I've always though "windchill" was a great description of what weather feels like when you add in some cold, gusty winds, but it's pretty clear that the people who give names to weather phenomenons don't much care what I think.
You're probably thinking that winter time in Northern Illinois will bring cold, wind, ice, and snow. You'd be absolutely correct about that. The question going into winter each year isn't whether or not those things will come (because they most certainly will), it's how much of those things are we going to have to deal with before Spring rolls in.
If you've been an Illinois resident for any length of time, I'm sure you realize that our state's leaders have never met a tax they didn't like or want to impose upon citizens. That would include a strange bit of logic when it comes to the taxability of Halloween candy.
