(Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - Prosecutors in Hennepin County have dropped all of the charges faced by a Minneapolis man who had been accused of putting another man through a terrifying ordeal earlier this year.

According to a court filing, the four felony charges lodged against 32-year-old Desmond Graham are being dismissed based on additional investigation and new information received since Graham was charged in March. The nature of the new information is not listed in the court document. Graham had been charged with kidnapping, first-degree aggravated robbery, third-degree assault, and a count of financial transaction fraud.

He was arrested and charged after another man told police he had been abducted by two men and later identified Graham as one of his captors through a police photo lineup. The victim indicated he had been beaten in a vacant gas station until he surrendered his debit card and login information. He alleged his captors made several large cash withdrawals from his account and then drove around Minneapolis doing drugs until one of the men passed out and became unresponsive.

At that point, the victim’s statement took a bizarre turn. He told Graham first beat up the other captor in an effort to revive him and then set the man on fire in another bid to resuscitate the apparent overdose victim. When that didn't work, the victim described Graham putting out the flames and pouring alcohol on the man's burns.
