Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota teenager has been charged with murder for allegedly delivering a fatal beating and then posting a video of the crime on social media.

Bail for 19-year-old Emmanuel Davis of Minneapolis was set at $750,000 after he was charged this week with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a man last month. The criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County Court indicates Minneapolis police launched an investigation on March 6th after receiving a call from a person who had been sent a disturbing video showing an assault on her family member. The court document says it appears the video was posted from the victim's phone to Facebook and shows another man kicking and stomping on the unconscious victim’s head and neck while an unidentified female can be heard laughing in the background.

Investigators made contact with area hospitals and were able to locate the victim. The charges against Davis say the man had suffered severe head trauma the day before and later died from his injuries.

Minneapolis police then used the Facebook video to identify Davis as the suspect and spoke to multiple people who know him and identified him as the person attacking the victim. Following his arrest, the criminal complaint says Davis admitted hiring his juvenile girlfriend to lure the victim to an apartment, where he planned to assault the man. Davis also admitted stealing the victim's phone and using it to send videos and messages to other people.

Court records indicate Davis was on Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction probation for two aggravated robberies when the deadly assault occurred. Hennepin County prosecutors have also given notice of their intent to seek a longer than recommended sentence "due to the particular cruelty shown to the victim and his family."
