Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The proposal for another large downtown Rochester apartment project is moving forward.

The Rochester Planning and Zoning Commission has voted unanimously to approve the preliminary plan for the development, which has been named the City Walks Apartments. The plan calls for a seven-story building with 131 apartment units and three levels of underground parking with nearly 120 spaces.

The project is being proposed for a property at the corner of 2nd Street and 6th Avenue Southwest that was formerly the home of Just Rite Foods.

The Rochester City Council is expected to consider the preliminary plan at its meeting on June 7th. If it is approved, the developer will then submit a final plan for approval by the planning commission and the City Council.
