It's not often that Minnesota is affected by tropical storms or hurricanes, but that could definitely be the case this weekend!

Living here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, we're subjected to a variety of weather situations, depending on the season, right? During the spring, summer, and fall, Mother Nature can whip up severe thunderstorms with high winds, tornadoes, hail, lightning, flash flooding, and more.

And, of course, Old Man Winter can throw blizzard-like conditions at us with massive snowfall amounts, whipping winds, and bitter cold sub-zero temperatures too.

But at least we don't have to deal with hurricanes or tropical storms, right? Well, not directly, anyway. There HAVE been times that some leftover rains from tropical storms or hurricanes have made their way to our neck of the woods.

Certainly, if you are flying this weekend and your connecting flight takes you anywhere in the southeast (like, say, to Delta's main hub in Atlanta) your flight might very well be affected by Hurricane Ian.

But now even U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis could be Hurricane Ian's crosshairs. As of Tuesday,  Ian is forecast to hit parts of Florida this weekend. According to ESPN NFL reporter Jeff Darlington, the NFL is considering moving the Buccaneers/Chiefs game scheduled for Sunday in Tampa. Darlington Tweeted that instead of moving the game to Miami, where Hard Rock Stadium would be available, the NFL would instead likely move the game to a neutral site in the Midwest.

And that site could very well be the home of the Vikings. U.S. Bank Stadium would be available Sunday because the Vikings will be playing the New Orleans Saints in London, England. Darlington Tweeted that no firm decision has been made yet, and that the NFL will continue to assess the situation as the storm makes landfall.

But who knows? You might be able to see Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes in person this weekend right here in the North Star State-- without worrying if they'll be beating the Vikings! That might be worth some money to see, right? Speaking of money, keep scrolling to check out who the 10 Highest Paid Athletes in Minnesota are in 2022!
