FBI Says Minnesota Boogaloo Bois Member Scouted the State Capitol
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota man belonging to the anti-government Boogaloo Bois has been charged with illegal possession of a machine gun.
A news release from Acting US Attorney W. Anders Folk says 27-year-old Michael Dahlager of St. Cloud was arrested early Wednesday. He made an appearance before a federal magistrate this afternoon and was ordered held without bail.
According to the charges, Dahlager became the target of an FBI investigation last November after a confidential informant said Dahlager had been discussing a willingness to kill members of law enforcement. The news release also says the FBI learned Dahlager was in possession of a 3-D-printed "drop-in auto-sear," which is a part designed to convert semi-automatic weapons into fully automatic firearms.
Dahlager allegedly showed the informant two of the devices and an item he claimed was a suppressor, or silencer, during a meeting at his home. The criminal complaint also says the St. Cloud man showed off port holes installed in his home that he could use to make a stand if he was confronted by law enforcement officers. It’s alleged Dahlager later provided two of the auto-sears to the FBI informant.
While he was under investigation, the court documents also allege Dahlager conducted surveillance on behalf of the Boogaloo Bois while he attended a "Stop the Steal" rally at the State Capitol on December 12th. It is alleged the scouting included counting law enforcement numbers, identifying overwatch positions, quick reaction forces, and streets blocked by law enforcement.
