Assistant Fillmore County Attorney Marla Stanton and Captain John DeGeorge from the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office will be at Fillmore Central tomorrow to talk with students and the public about Social Media behavior and other tips for online use.

Internet safety is needed now more than ever, as it is simple for kids to go online and interact with pretty much anyone they want. Stanton and DeGeorge will talk to the students during the day, and there will also be a  presentation that the public can attend at the Fillmore Central Gym at 6 pm.

The presentations will be about inappropriate content, online privacy, unwanted sexual relationships/grooming behavior, and cyberbullying. They will also discuss the social and legal consequences of social media use and talk about Minnesota criminal laws and collateral consequences.
