Fillmore County Public Health is now accepting sewn masks, sewn gowns, and sewing materials to address COVID-19 response needs.

According to a release from Fillmore County Public Health, the county's goal is to obtain 5,000 Sewn masks and 500 sewn gowns. Health educator Brend Pohlman said that sewing materials accepted include cotton cloth and elastic.

For those interested in helping can check out the Fillmore County Public Health website for a pattern and instructions for making twenty-four masks at a time. Gown patterns are also available on Pinterest for the peek-a-boo Pattern Shop.

As of April 11th, the county has collected nearly 240 masks and 50 Gowns.

Materials are welcome Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and those who are donating should place their donations and forms int eh gray tote outside of the upper level of the Fillmore County Office Building located at 902 Houston Street in Preston.
