George Floyd Fundraiser Has Raised Millions of Dollars In Less Than A Week
St Paul (KROC AM News) - A GoFundMe site set up for the George Floyd family has become one of the most successful ever.
The fund was set up May 28th, three days after Floyd’s death with a goal of $1.5-million. As of 7:00 AM Wednesday, it had raised more than $11-million.
The site was set up by Floyd’s sister Philonise:
"This fund is established to cover funeral and burial expenses, mental and grief counseling, lodging and travel for all court proceedings, and to assist our family in the days to come as we continue to seek justice for George. A portion of these funds will also go to the Estate of George Floyd for the benefit and care of his children and their educational fund."
