For one day only, you can get a rabies vaccine for your dogs, cats, and ferrets for just $20. It's the 62nd annual rabies vaccination clinic. This year will look a little different than the past. Due to COVID-19, the event will be set up a drive-through clinic. No appointment is necessary. Here are the details.

On August 26th the drive-through clinic will be set up at the History Center of Olmsted County from 1p-7p. Attendees are asked to wear a mask, stay in their vehicle, and bring exact change. Animals should be on a leash or in a pet carrier inside the vehicle. This event is a convenient opportunity for pet owners to help protect their pet(s), family, and community from the risk of rabies.

The shots will be administered by local vet Dr. Larry Predmore. A rabies certificate will be provided as proof of vaccination. According to Northern Valley Vet, kittens are given their first rabies vaccination at 16 weeks of age, and then receive boosters annually as adults. Puppies, on the other hand, are given their first rabies vaccination at 16 weeks of age, and then receive a booster at 1 year old. After that, dogs are given rabies vaccinations every three years.
