
Move Over, Iowa! Discover Why Minnesota is the Midwest’s True Gem
About 26 years ago, I packed up my bags and moved from a small(er) town in Iowa to the big city of Bloomington, Minnesota. I lived in a super sketchy apartment that I am convinced had mold and mice. But BONUS, I lived about 5 minutes from the Mall of America.
Every year, people just like me pack up their homes and make a move to the Land of 10,000 Lakes. In 2024, a little bit more than 100,000 people made the trek from other states to Paul Bunyan's paradise. We've had so many people flocking to us that now we have over 5,793,151 people residing in Minnesota.
So, what makes Minnesota so great? If we are just comparing Minnesota to Iowa, there are quite a few reasons why Minnesota is the superior state. To find out what those were, I did some crowdsourcing from people who have some experience with that Southern "less desirable" state where the tall corn grows. A.K.A. Iowa.

In my crowdsearching research, I simply asked fans listening to my radio show on Y-105FM how long they have lived in this great state. If I heard that they migrated at some point from Iowa, I knew that they were my target.
