
Missing Minnesota Man Found Deceased (UPDATE)

Mountain Iron, MN (MinnesotaNow) -- Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating 39-year-old Benjamin James Sherwood, a Mountain Iron resident who has been missing since the morning of March 11.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Sherwood was last seen by his wife around 10 a.m. at their home on the 8800 block of Main Street. He left on foot and may be in distress, as he recently injured his back and neck after slipping on the ice. He also has a history of a traumatic brain injury.
Despite search efforts by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office Rescue Squad, including both ground and aerial searches, Sherwood has not yet been found. However, a possible sighting was reported Tuesday around 4 p.m. near North 8th Avenue West and 16th Street North in Virginia.
Residents and business owners in Mountain Iron, Walmart, L&M, Parkville, and the northwestern part of Virginia are encouraged to review their security footage for any images of Sherwood. Anyone with potential leads is urged to call 911 and reference case number 25035248.
Sherwood is described as 5’8” tall, weighing 180 pounds, bald with a beard. He was last seen wearing a blue coat with an orange fur-lined hood, khaki pants, dark brown boots, and an orange hat with a wide dark green stripe. He may also have a camouflage backpack.
Anyone who may have seen Sherwood or has information about his whereabouts should contact authorities immediately by calling 911.
