Fast Food Fans Rejoice As Chipotle Plans A Second Duluth Spot

This is a great idea! There is always some sort of speculation about a fast food chain or a restaurant coming to Duluth. Rumors are always flying and people are very vocal about what they want to see in the area.

We have had a lot of new additions over the last few years: Popeye's along Central Entrance, a 7 Brew Coffee moving into the same development and even a Chick-fil-A.

I love when new fast food chains open in the area, especially coffee shops, although it gets a little dangerous for me at times. Ha!

Recently, it was announced that a developer had bought a chunk of land along London Road, with plans for a drive-thru and quite a few parking spaces. Rumors were swirling about what it could be but now, it looks like we have an answer!

Chipotle Plans Second Duluth Location Along London Road

FOX 21 reports that Chipotle could be moving into the spot, making it the second location in Duluth. The first one, located in the Miller Hill Mall, is always so busy. People really love Chipotle so this one would be a big hit, no doubt.

According to FOX 21, the Duluth Planning Commission met on Tuesday (May 12th) and approved a two-year permit that would allow the popular chain to move into the spot. There are lots of moving parts when it comes to development, but that is the first step!

New Chipotle Location Will Have Plentiful Parking & Drive-Thru

The coolest part about this new Chipotle is that it has a drive-thru window, which is unusual for the chain. This will allow those that ordered ahead of time to skip the line and pick up their orders this way. This is awesome because the line at the first location is always so long!

Construction is set to start later this summer on August 1st. Yes! Many thought it was a Raising Cane's considering we don't have one yet and there are a bunch in the Twin Cities.

Maybe one day this will happen but for now, it's exciting that we have another Chipotle option, no? I am always too lazy to drive up the hill (bad, I know!) and park and walk in during lunch hour so this could be perfect for me!
