Discount Grocery Retailer Has A New Location In Minnesota

Lately, there has been a lot of exciting business news in the Northland, which is great for consumers and job hunters.

The biggest recent headline was Sofidel's planned $200 million expansion in Duluth, which includes constructing a nearly 600,000-square-foot automated warehouse for product storage and distribution. That project alone will create at least 160 new jobs.

Other recent business news in the Northland has included the addition of Juice Pharm to the Miller Hill Mall, the reopening of Culver's on E 2nd Street in Superior, the 'Chicken and Whaaat?!' restaurant opening later this year from the team that brought us favorites like ' The Duluth Grill', 'OMC Smokehouse', and more.

Of course, there's also the highly anticipated opening of 'Chick-fil-A' at the Miller Hill Mall, which is expected to happen before the holidays.

More recently, a new business just opened in Hermantown that will provide consumers in the area a convenient place to grab grocery items on a budget.

Dollar General Adds Market Location To Hermantown

Everyone is likely familiar with the retail chain Dollar General, which prides itself on providing everyday basics and more at discount prices. Dollar General stores provide name-brand health and beauty essentials, home decor, cleaning supplies, snacks, etc.

Another Dollar General retail store is the DG Market, which promises "the savings and convenience of a Dollar General, plus the fresh meat, produce, and dairy of a neighborhood grocer."

It's name-brand essentials with a bigger focus on grocery items, and that is what just opened in Hermantown, at 4678 Vaux Road, which is just off Highway 53 in the Pike Lake area. 

Dollar General says it now offers fresh produce in over 5,000 stores across the U.S., reaching more communities than any other mass retailer or grocer in the country.

A DG Markets have approximately 80 percent of the produce categories most grocery stores provide, including top produce items like tomatoes, apples, salad mixes, strawberries, potatoes, and more.

The new Hermantown location is open Monday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
