Minnesota’s Longest Running Haunted Attraction Returns For 9 Nights
Minnesota's longest-running haunted attraction will return this weekend for its 32nd year. Better hurry, it will only be for 9 nights.
The Haunted Shack in Carlton, Minnesota, has grown over the years to be the largest haunted attraction in Northern Minnesota, and also the longest running in the Midwest. The Halloween attraction is held on a working farm in Carlton, and crews have been transforming the farm into the biggest and best haunted attraction yet.
The shack consists of "a maze of horrors where only the bravest souls enter to be taken through a dizzying tour of ghoulish scenes haunted by real actors, pneumatic and animatronic props, sensory platforms and state-of-the-art light and sound systems."
It will be open for only 9 nights and 1 kid-friendly daytime version. The evening dates are October 10-12, October 16-18, and October 23-25. Friday and Saturday hours are 7-10 pm, Thursday and Sunday hours are 7-9 pm.
The special kids day version of the Haunted Shack will be on October 18th from 11:00 am to 2 pm. Admission for kids' day is $15.
Pat Stojevich is the creator and director. His volunteers call him the Chief Ghoul, and he says the Haunted Shack has helped keep him going through recent health struggles after fighting kidney failure and cancer. He's been undergoing extensive procedures locally and at the Mayo Clinic.
“It has been a long battle and some days you don’t feel like getting up, but you must push on and do the things you love. The Haunted Shack is one of those drives that keep me going,”- Pat Stojevich.
Besides the Haunted Shack, the venue also has the Haunted Hayride, Trail of Horror, and Maze of Terror. $20 admission gets you into all four attractions. The Ru-Ridge Corn Maze, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, and hayrides happen during the day and are family-friendly. The combination of all the events makes the Haunted Ridge the one-stop shop for all your fall festivities. Proceeds from the event go to local charities, like the Special Olympics, Coats for Kids, Chum Food Shelf, and others.
Volunteers are still needed for the event. You can reach out to Pat Stojevich at 218-348-1561.
The Haunted Ridge is located at 1781 Country Rd 1 in Carlton, Minnesota.
