Another major change is coming to Costco stores across the nation, including those in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Just last month, it was announced that Costco would be upping membership prices in September. This wasn't a huge shock, since most businesses are upping prices at the moment.

The price increase varies from five to ten bucks depending on your membership tier.

Now, there's another change you need to brace for in the very near future, and it also has to do with your membership.

In a new press release on their website, Costco officials share that they will be installing membership scanning devices at all entrances.

While they didn't give an exact date for when these new devices will be installed, they did say the changes will happen over the next few months.

Once these new devices are installed at your local Costco entrance, you will have to scan your membership card. You can scan your physical membership card or the digital version.

That's Not All...

Guests will still need to be accompanied by a member in order to gain entry into Costco stores. If you don't have a membership or it has expired, you will need to go to the membership counter before you can enter.

Last but not least, if your Costco membership card doesn't have a picture on it, you will need to show your photo ID prior to entering. Costco really isn't messing around these days!
