If you're looking to own property in Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources may have just what you're looking for in their upcoming online public land sale.

The DNR says the July land auction will be held in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Administration. Annual land sales help the DNR refine its land holdings and meet its responsibility to maximize recreational, conservation, and economic opportunities. The DNR adds that they sell land at public auction in accordance with state statutes.

For the July public land sale, there are state lands available in Clearwater, Itasca, and Wadena counties. The 10 rural and lakeshore properties for sale offer several recreational opportunities.

The properties will be available for bidding from Monday, July 10 through Monday, July 24. Bidding is done online through MinnBid.

The DNR land sale webpage has more information about the online public land auction, as well as property data sheets for the lands for sale, terms and conditions of sale, and instructions for participating in the MinnBid to bid on properties.

It's important to note that prior to participating in the auction, anyone interested in bidding on a property needs to first register for a MinnBid account.

Selling land allows the Minnesota DNR to remove land from its portfolio that is no longer meeting primary management objectives. Depending on the type of land sold, revenue from sales may go to the School Trust or provide funds to allow the DNR to invest in other, high-priority acquisitions.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
