Think You Know The Haunted Ship? These 10 Facts May Surprise You

I know I am not the only one that is beyond thrilled that spooky season is officially here! Okay, technically it is only September but Spirit Halloween has been open for awhile and it's now acceptable to put up all of your Halloween decor.

I was just as excited when the 2026 schedule was released for the famous Haunted Ship. It may seem early but people come from all over the place to hop aboard the haunted attraction so you have to plan ahead.

If you didn't know, the Haunted Ship is a real ship known as the William A. Irvin. It is docked in Lake Superior and there are rumors about it being haunted year-round, although we may never know for sure.

The ship turns into a haunted attraction come October and it is one of the most unique ones around! Where else can you go through an allegedly haunted ship as a haunted attraction?

Beyond the uniqueness of being able to board a haunted attraction aboard a real ship, there are a bunch of other reasons to appreciate the Haunted Ship. There is so much that goes into it every year!

The Haunted Ship has even garnered national attention! In 2024, the attraction was named one of the seven scariest attractions in the WORLD by Forbes. That is quite the honor considering there are hundreds nationwide.

Like I said, there is so much that goes into this and it takes so many people, volunteers and organizers to put this on. I never get sick of going through the attraction and go at least once a year - if not more!
