When the calendar turns to October, I normally think about two things regarding food: chili and cornbread. Some people are soup and sandwich folks this time of year, but I've always been more of a chili and cornbread person. I may have finally found a place that has some of Minnesota's best cornbread.

The building that could possibly hold the best cornbread in Minnesota is located at 525 Selby Ave in St. Paul. If you were to drive down Selby, you might not even look twice at the building, but inside Revival is cooking up some delicious food, and one that has gotten a lot of attention is their cornbread.

All of the online reviews mention the texture of the bread versus the honey butter whip that comes with the cornbread. Tami wrote online:

"The cornbread's crunchy exterior and tender inside pairs perfectly with the whipped honey butter! Highly recommend it!"

I was down in the Twin Cities recently and had the chance to try the cornbread and it was as advertised. For me, good cornbread is dense but dry and the outside should be crunchy.

The cornbread at Revival comes as a side item, and for what you get the price of $6 isn't offensive. I am NOT a huge fan of Hot Chicken, but lots of online reviews say the cornbread goes very well with that menu item. I paired mine with the chicken tenders.

You can learn more about the St. Paul location, or any of the other 2 locations and see the menu and read reviews by heading here.
