15 Year Old Driver Among 2 People Killed in Rosemount Crash
Rosemount, MN (KROC-AM News) - A 15-year-old boy was killed Monday afternoon and in a head-on crash in Rosemount.
A news release issued today by the Dakota County Sheriff's Office says the teenage motorist was attempting to pass a semi-truck in a no passing zone on Dakota County Road 46 when he, and the driver of the vehicle headed in the opposite direction, both swerved onto the north shoulder of the roadway and collided head-on. The deadly crash was reported around 3:30 PM.
The Dakota County Sheriff's Office says the young driver, 15-year-old David Rojas of Rosemount, and the driver of the other vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was identified as 81-year-old Dennis Dahlstrom of Champaign Illinois.
His passenger, 78-year-old Sandra Dahlstrom, was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting the Dakota County Sheriff's Office with the investigation into the tragic incident.
