Oak Grove, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in the Twin Cities have identified an Albert Lea man as the victim of a recent motorcycle fatality.

 A news release issued on Monday says the deadly crash occurred shortly before noon on Saturday. An SUV was also involved in the fatal incident. 

First responders were dispatched to the SUV-motorcycle crash in the  3200 block of Viking Blvd Northwest in the City of Oak Grove, which is about 30 miles north of Minneapolis

Preliminary information indicates the SUV struck the stopped motorcycle from behind while the motorcycle operator was waiting to make a left turn from the eastbound lane.

Albert Lea Man Pronounced Dead at the Scene of Minnesota Motorcycle Crash

49-year-old Kelly Matthew Linder was identified as the driver of the motorcycle. First responders provided life-saving aid and Linder also received care from a medical helicopter crew but he was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release says.  

Officials described the SUV driver as an adult female. Her name has not been released. 

No other information is available. The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol are assisting with the investigation of the traffic fatality.
