
Faribault Police Arrest Suspect for String of Business Burglaries
Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police in Faribault say they have a suspect connected to multiple business burglaries in custody.

A news release issued on Monday says officers made the arrest after executing a search warrant at the suspect’s home late last week.
“This a great example of tenacious police work by our detectives and officers in their commitment to keep our community safe and hold criminals accountable, especially on a Friday night after already completing a long week of work,” said Faribault Police Chief John Sherwin.

Faribault Police Capture Business Burglary Suspect After Search Warrant, Felony Charges Filed
Faribault police say multiple businesses were burglarized in September. The news release does not list the names of the businesses or the number of commercial buildings hit in the burglaries.
Based on information developed throughout the investigation, police executed a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Wilson Ave on Friday.
Investigators discovered musical instruments, construction items and other items that had been reported stolen from the businesses.
The estimated collective value of the items is nearly $3,000, the criminal complaint says.
Police identified the man arrested as 29-year-old Paul William Brekkestran. During his arrest, officers found a gram of suspected fentanyl on him, the criminal complaint says.
Brekkestran has been charged with felony receiving stolen property and felony drug possession.
His conditional bail was set at $5,000 following his first court appearance on Monday. Brekkestran is due back in court in January.
