Victim of Minnesota Camper Fire Identified
Moorhead, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in northwestern Minnesota have identified the victim of a recent camper fire.
The Moorhead Police Department says the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office has positively identified the man as 68-year-old Richard Branson. His remains were found inside a burned up camper after Moorhead police officers and firefighters responded to reports of a pickup with a camper mounted on it on fire in the early morning hours of February 8.
A news release says preliminary autopsy results show soot and smoke immolation as the cause of death. The fire was ruled accidental and was caused by a propane heater that was placed too close to combustible materials inside the camper.
The final autopsy report, including the results of toxicology tests, is still pending.
