Motions Request Dismissal of Charges Against Petersen Twins
Preston, MN (KROC-AM News) - The attorneys representing the twin sisters charged in connection with a deadly collision involving an Amish buggy last year have filed motions in Fillmore County Court to dismiss the criminal complaints.
35-year-old Samantha Petersen is charged with multiple counts of criminal vehicular homicide and operation for allegedly driving while impaired and colliding with the buggy on a rural highway near Stewartville last September. The crash claimed the lives of 7-year-old Wilma and 11-year-old Irma Miller.

Sarah Petersen is accused of conspiring with her twin sister to deceive investigators into believing that she was driving the SUV when the deadly collision occurred. The evidence includes an audio recording of the two women talking at the scene of the crash and text message conversations with the store manager and human resources manager at the Rochester business where both sisters worked.
It's expected that the motions will be argued at court hearings that are scheduled in August.
