Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - A presentence investigation has been ordered for a Grand Meadow man who was scheduled to stand trial this week on a long list of charges stemming from a search warrant executed at his home in December 2022.

Court records show 46-year-old Nicholas Adam Sneed today entered guilty pleas to two gross misdemeanor counts of interfering with privacy, a felony drug possession charge, and two gross misdemeanor counts involving the illegal possession of firearms. Sneed had been charged with a dozen felony counts of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaints against him, the Mower County Sheriff's Office obtained a search warrant after receiving information from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force. The tip indicated that child sexual abuse material had been uploaded using an email address associated with Sneed.

Sneed was initially charged with illegal drug and firearm possession after investigators found methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription medications during the execution of the search warrant. They also found a rifle and a .45 caliber pistol in the home.

In the garage, the criminal complaint indicates three mini SD cards were found in a safe, along with cell phones and other devices. An examination of the storage devices later led to the child pornography charges that were filed against Sneed last year.

It was alleged that the SD cards contained videos of several juveniles that were recorded by a hidden camera inside a bathroom at the residence where Sneed had been staying. The criminal complaint says investigators spoke with the three victims and they indicated they were not aware of the presence of the camera.

Sneed is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
