Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorcycle operator was taken to a hospital after crashing in southeast Minnesota on Monday.

He was the only person involved in the crash. The State Patrol responded to the traffic accident shortly before 4 p.m.

29-Year-Old Motorcyclist Taken to Hospital After Motorcycle Hits Cone on Hwy. 61 in Red Wing
The motorcycle crashed on Hwy. 61 near the state correctional facility in Red Wing.
The driver was heading north when the motorcycle struck a cone and went into the grass median, according to the state crash report.
29-year-old Riley Jon Schmiege of Waterville, MN was identified as the motorcycle operator.

The State Patrol says he suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to a Red Wing hospital for further care.
Schmiege was wearing a helmet and was not wearing a helmet, the state crash report says.
The Red Wing Fire Department, Red Wing Police Department and Red Wing Ambulance also responded to the motorcycle crash.
