Charges: Police Find Gun in Apartment Belonging to Rochester Shooting Suspect

On Friday the other suspect, identified as 29-year-old Alanzo Kelly of Rochester, made his first appearance on the same charges as Bunch.

The criminal complaint says law enforcement executed a search warrant following the shooting at a unit in the Falcon Landing Apartments that belonged to Kelly.

Police found a handgun after searching the unit and also saw Kelly appearing to be carrying a pistol in his waistband on footage captured by a surveillance camera, the charges say.

The complaint against Kelly includes a statement Bunch gave to officers in which Bunch stated he wanted to fight Kelly for breaking his friend’s leg.

Bunch claimed Kelly started shooting at him when Bunch, who court documents say lives in a neighboring apartment complex, arrived in the area. Kelly told police that Bunch started shooting at him, the complaint says.

Kelly’s conditional bail was set at $150,000 on Friday. Court records indicate he was previously convicted of felony burglary in Illinois in 2013. His next court appearance is set for later this month.
