Update: Bus Carrying 35 Students Crashes in Rural Fillmore County
Spring Valley, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office has released more information regarding a school bus rollover crash that occurred Friday morning.

First responders were dispatched to the crash shortly after 10:10 Friday morning. It happened on a rural gravel road in Fillmore County.
35 students and four adults were on the bus when it crashed, according to a news release issued by the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office. The bus crashed on 212th St. in an area just south of Wykoff near Forestville.
The students on the bus are from the Winona Middle School. An unspecified, small number of the students were transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the news release.
Officials have set up a reunification center at the Winona Middle School for parents and guardians to pick up their students. The students on the bus not in need of further medical attention were transported back to Winona by vans.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates the bus rolled over after its right wheels went off the gravel road in an area with a steep shoulder. The crash is under investigation the news release says.
The Wykoff Fire Department, Spring Valley Ambulance, Spring Valley Fire Department and the Preston Ambulance also responded to the crash.
