School Bus With Kids on Board Involved in Minnesota Injury Crash
Pillager, MN (KROC-AM News)- A school bus transporting nearly three-dozen students was involved in a two-vehicle injury crash in northern Minnesota Friday.
34 students were on board the bus at the time of the crash. The State Patrol responded to the collision shortly before 8 a.m.
The state crash report indicates the school bus was traveling west on Hwy. 210 when it attempted to make a left turn onto Cass County Rd. 1 in the small town of Pillager, which is about 18 miles west of Brainerd, when it made contact with an eastbound van hauling a trailer.
The bus driver, identified as 73-year-old John Gordon Peterson of Cushing, MN, was taken from the crash scene to a nearby hospital for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
45-year-old Jeremy Lee Trebesch of Pillager was identified as the van driver. He was also taken from the scene to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say three of the 34 juveniles on board were also hurt in the crash. Their injuries were described as minor and none of them were transported to a hospital.
The crash report says the road had snow and ice on it. Alcohol was not involved in the collision.
