Southeast Minnesota Home Damaged When Car Crashes Through Roof
La Crescent, MN (KROC-AM News) - It appears a medical condition may have contributed to a spectacular car crash in southeastern Minnesota Thursday morning.
A spokesperson for the La Crescent Police Department says a car went off a road and down a steep hill before crashing into the roof of the home. The incident was reported around 10:30 AM in a residential neighborhood on the southern edge of the Houston County community along the Mississippi River.
La Crescent Police reported the driver of the car failed to navigate a fairly sharp curve while traveling north on Houston County Road 25. The car, after crashing through some trees on the steep hill, smashed through the roof of the garage portion of the home. No one was in the house when the incident occurred, and the spokesperson indicated the only person injured was the woman driving the vehicle.
The driver was transported to a hospital in La Crosse for treatment. Information about her medical condition is not available, but the police spokesperson says she survived the harrowing ordeal.
Officials say alcohol and/or drugs were not involved.
