Two People Stabbed During Fight in Small Southeast Minnesota Town
Spring Valley, MN (KROC-AM News) - Fillmore County authorities are looking for the people involved in an altercation that left two people with stab wounds.
Fillmore County Sheriff John DeGeorge says the incident occurred late Friday night outside the Kwik Trip store in Spring Valley. Deputies responded to reports of a fight shortly after 11:30 PM, but the people involved had already left the scene by the time they arrived.
The Sheriff says further investigation, which included reviewing surveillance videos, determined that at least two people were stabbed during the altercation. The two wounded individuals were taken to a hospital to be treated for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
He says investigators have identified the people involved in the incident. He says they are not residents of Fillmore County and left the area afterwards.
Sheriff DeGeorge also says investigators believe the altercation that led to the stabbing was a continuation of a prior dispute between those involved.
The investigation into the incident continues, and the Sheriff says additional information will be released as it becomes available.
