These are the first recalls we've seen in Illinois in a long time that didn't include the words salmonella, E. coli, listeria, foreign materials, or glass fragments.

To be fair, all of those recalls involved food products, and the recalls we're talking about here are all automotive-related.

When there's a food recall, everybody eats so everybody is interested in a food product being taken off the shelves at grocery stores. Pretty much the same is true when it comes to vehicles. Nearly everybody drives, so let's get to the list of recalled vehicles to see if yours is on the list.

Here are the recalled GM vehicles:

  • 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade
  • 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade ESV

The Ford Recall Isn't About Engines Suddenly Failing, But The Part That's Defective Can Cause You Big Problems, Too

Ford is recalling almost 300,000 vehicles because there are problems with the back-up cameras and displays. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that rearview cameras can intermittently display a blank or distorted image, which can reduce the driver’s ability to see behind them, increasing the risk of a crash.

A second recall of almost 30,000 SUVs is also related to faulty back-up cameras and displays that show a blue or black image instead of a clear one when the vehicles are placed into reverse, which also raises the chances of a collision.

Letters to owners will be sent out from Ford this week. Dealers will handle the repairs with no charge to owners Here are the affected vehicles:

  • 2015 Ford Expedition
  • 2015 Ford F-250
  • 2015 Ford F-350
  • 2015 Ford F-450
  • 2015 Lincoln MKC

  • 2022 Ford Bronco
