Two members of the 2023 Iowa Hawkeyes football team have been named unanimous consensus All-Americans. That's not an easy task. Including this year's honorees, only 15 Iowa players have received the honor in the last 99 years.

Iowa punter Tory Taylor (#9 below) broke Iowa's punting yardage record again in 2023, for the third straight season. The winner of the 2023 Ray Guy Punter of the Year, Taylor has punted for 4,119 yards on 86 kicks this season, an average of 47.9 yards per boot.

Iowa defensive back Cooper Dejean (#3 below) didn't allow a touchdown pass in 388 snaps while he was in coverage this season. He was also second in the Big Ten and 14th nationally in punt return average, at 11.5 per return.

Dejean had a punt return for a touchdown against Michigan State. He also had one called back against Minnesota due to the infamous "invalid fair catch signal" penalty call that came following an officials review after the play.

Both Taylor and Dejean were named first-team All-America by Walter Camp, the Football Writers Association of America, the Associated Press, the American Football Coaches Association, and the Sporting News. As a result, they are both unanimous consensus All-Americans, the 14th and 15th in Iowa football history. *The full list, including photos of each, is below.

Iowa linebacker Jay Higgins (#34 below) was a second-team All-America. He was third in the nation, and number one in the Big Ten this season, with 155 tackles. He was chosen first-team All-America by two publications, and second-team by several others.

In the gallery below are the 15 Iowa Hawkeyes that have been named unanimous consensus All-Americans. Kirk Ferentz has been head coach during the careers of 12 of them. He was an assistant at Iowa in the 1980s when two others were recognized with the distinction. Yes, just one played at Iowa when Kirk Ferentz wasn't on the sideline.
