DeSoto, Illinois Man Pleads Guilty To Hitting On-Off Girlfriend, Son 117 Times With Bat
A man has pleaded guilty to murder in DeSoto.
Marcus Moultrie pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder after an incident on May 13th.
According to records, earlier that night, Moultrie had been out playing softball and went out. When he got home, his on-again off-again girlfriend, Deborah Snider, confronted him about an affair she believed he was having. She said that she and the kids (all of them: ages 11, 8, 6 and 1) planned to move out in 2 days.
The two started arguing and Moultrie blocked the exit of Snider's bedroom and forced her to the ground while she was holding their infant.
He started hitting her with the baseball bat and, as was heard on his phone recording, she repeated his name several times.

Murder-For-Hire Plot And 'Wanton Cruelty'
Moultrie pled guilty to one count of murder (which was enhanced because it was "exceptionally brutal" and involved "wanton cruelty") and one count of attempted murder. He faces a sentence of up to a natural life in prison.
Still, Moultrie allegedly tried to hire a fellow inmate to kill Snider for $1,500. His sentencing hearing is set for December 4th in Jackson County, Illinois.
