Philly Cheesesteak Employee Attacked With Sandwich For TikTok Video
One of Pennsylvania's most famous places to get a Philly Cheesesteak is in the national headlines after they started offering a reward for his arrest.
Wednesday, September 30th, police were called to Pat's King of Steaks at approximately 5pm for a report of an assault.
“According to the investigation, an unknown male allegedly threw a cheesesteak at an employee’s face before fleeing the location,” the statement said, adding no injuries were reported.
The suspect was identified as a black male, around 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was wearing a blue Under Armour jacket, black shorts, and red Beats headphones.
Pat's King of Steaks, which has been in business in Philadelphia since 1930, is offering $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
Footage aired by the news stations showed the suspect filming his experience with Pat's King of Steaks.
“The guy picked the sandwich up, threw it in his face and ran off. The coward,” Pat’s King of Steaks owner Frank Olivieri told CBS News Philadelphia during an on-camera interview.
The guy had a tripod to make sure his video was as high-quality as it could be.
“He assaulted my employee, so we’ll see how many of his friends that he has online are really his friends, see who’s going to turn him in first,” Olivieri said. “The power of the camera, AI, we’ll find him. We’ll find him. $5,000, we’ll pull him out of whatever rock he’s living under right now.”
