An unusual animal showed up in Rochester, Minnesota over the weekend.  I heard a rumor that this might happen, and I saw it myself on Saturday night!

Unusual Animal Showed Up At One Of The Fanciest Locations in Rochester, Minnesota

I got a note last week from Megan Kennedy that said,

Hi!  Can I have you arrive about 4:30 on Saturday?  I know that is pretty early, but I want to make sure you get to walk around everything early and most importantly, get to hold the baby _______ before there is a big line."

I had no idea what I was wearing to this black-tie event already, but now, the chance that an animal could poop on me at the Kick'n Cancer gala was flooding my mind.  Are there diapers for this baby animal?  I guess I was about to find out.

Baby Kangaroos Surprised Guests At the Black-Tie Kick'n Cancer Gala in Rochester, MN

Saturday was a magical evening at the Hilton in Downtown Rochester.  Not only did guests at the Kick'n Cancer gala help raise over $200,000 for the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Rochester, but there were a few special guests, too!

Not only did a few cheerleaders from the Minnesota Vikings show up Saturday night, but I also caught a glimpse of Santa and Mrs. Claus!  But the visitors that really stole the show were a 5-month-old and a 4-month-old baby kangaroo.

Yes...there really were baby kangaroos in town!

Sustainable Safari, located in Bloomington and Maplewood, Minnesota, was the caretaker for the special guests on Saturday.  At their locations, they help you "learn fun facts about unique and beautiful animals up close"...and they did that for all of the guests at the gala too!

Personal Note To All Who Helped With The Kick'n Cancer Gala

What a magical night. ✨

Cancer has left an emotional hole in my heart, way too many times. I'm so thankful for places that provide a home away from home while people are in the fight.

To all who put in numerous hours to make this event happen for the families who need a home away from home in Rochester, THANK YOU.
