You know those days when you are working hard outside in Minnesota and it is just cold and wet?  A few years ago, I was setting up for a huge event at Soldier's Field in Rochester on a day like that and unfortunately, the volunteers I had lined up didn't show up.  So, it was just me, struggling to do it all until a man in the park started walking towards me.

A Stranger Who Saved The Day in Rochester, Minnesota

I was on a mission to get everything set up for this event and didn't even realize right away that a guy was walking towards me.  I'm not sure if my struggle was super obvious but this stranger offered to help and I wasn't going to say "no".

For hours, this stranger named Bob fought the cold with me as we set up a fundraising event for cancer survivors in our community.  We had a lot of time to talk as we were tying balloons and ribbons in various spots and during our chat, I learned that Bob was homeless.

For hours, Bob helped me with a smile and when I asked him to take a selfie with me, he had no idea why anyone would want a picture with him.  (he even apologized that I was downwind from him...but I didn't care).

Bob was just as cold as I was that day and probably more since he spent his night on the bench right next to the park.  I asked him where he was going and he said,

"I'm going to a place so I can warm up for a few hours.  I go here pretty much every day.  It is one of the few places where I can walk in and get out of the cold."

Why Someone Should Move to Minnesota (Wrong Answers Only)

I know a lot of people love the state of Minnesota, but the other day I had a little fun with our state. I asked on Facebook "Why should someone move to Minnesota? WRONG ANSWERS ONLY" and a whole bunch of answers started rolling in...and they are awesome.
