Purple Goat’s Poke The Goat Beer Event Returns to Rochester This Winter
In Minnesota, we have days when the snow shutters us in, the cold temperatures make it feel like our nose hairs are frozen, and moments when it appears that we live in a real-life snowglobe. Those are the magical moments of winter.
But there is one other event that has also warmed up quite a few people on these frigid days...and thanks to a local business, it is happening again in Rochester on February 7th!

Poke The Goat Is Back in Rochester, Minnesota in 2026
Every week, our family makes it a mission to support local businesses. Sometimes, we are buying a vehicle or something for the multiple home improvement projects we've got going on. Other times, we are just hungry and need to eat.
My kid was heading back to college last week and to celebrate his last night in town, he picked a local restaurant to eat at one last time. We have quite a few favorites, but his choice this time (thanks to the Kranz Burger) was Purple Goat.
I told the fam I'd stop by and pick it up after I was done with my radio show on Y-105FM. While I was at Purple Goat, not only did I grab our delicious food, but I also noticed that they've got a fun event coming up - Poke The Goat!
It's not the best photo, but I did manage to grab a picture of the flyer on the front door as I was leaving. Below are a few details to know that go a bit beyond the flyer.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Delicious beer and warm heaters and fireplaces will be waiting for you at the 4th Annual Bockfest. Enjoy some beer specials that include mugs that you get to keep - but get there early for those as supplies are limited. While you are there, try out bock poking, where you heat up a metal rod and poke a beer, which caramelizes the malt and sugars, creating a creamy taste and a smoky flavor.
