USA Today recently published an article on America’s favorite fast-food chains, including major brands like Arby’s, Chick-fil-A, Hardee’s, Popeyes, and KFC. Del Taco topped the list, though we don’t have one here.

Whether we like it or not, fast food is a staple in American diets, with 65% of people eating it at least once a week and 13% daily. Drive Research reports that Americans spend $148 monthly on fast food meals.

Minnesota’s Favorite Fast-Food Locations:

Before we get to the worst, let's recognize the best. According to the Top Agency, Taco Bell is the most loved fast-food chain in Minnesota, followed by Culver’s and McDonald’s.

Taco Bell has 91 restaurants in 60 Minnesota communities, Culver’s operates close to 60 locations across the state, and McDonald’s has over 200 locations in Minnesota. Surprisingly, McDonald’s is not the leading fast-food chain in terms of location count in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. The biggest chains can be seen below.

Insider Monkey compiled a list of the worst fast-food chains in America based on Reddit threads and comments. The lowest-rated chain has only one location in our state.

According to the list, the worst-rated chain is Long John Silver’s. I haven't had LJS in a long time, but I really want some hush puppies now.

“It is an American chain of fast-food restaurants that specializes in seafood. A large number of Redditors pointed out problems with the food quality at Long John Silver’s. Several Redditors labeled the chain as simply awful.”

The only Long John Silver’s in Minnesota is located inside the Mall of America.
